We're Free At Last

The revelation of Climategate, that the scientists in charge of climate research have engaged in dishonest behavior and sought to manipulate data in order to perpetrate a worldwide hoax, is the best news to come along in many years. In the coming months, as the evidence is examined and the full extent of the deceit is uncovered, the world will come to several conclusions. First and foremost will be that many needless rules and regulations will be wiped from the books.

However, the best news is there is no excuse for us not to drill for oil, to build refineries and nuclear plants. We can return to using any light bulb we wish. California can no longer dictate what kind of televisions their citizens can purchase. We can abandon inefficient and expensive substitutes for aerosol can propellants and automotive air conditioner refrigerants. We can rescue our automotive industry by declaring a moratorium on new pollution requirements for several years.

The standard of living in third world countries can be improved at a faster rate, lifting more people out of poverty. The energy required for basic human needs such as clean water will now be much less expensive and therefore more widely available. There are many other benefits and they're all good. This might be just what we need to lift us out of our current economic recession.

Common sense instead of fantasy will be restored to government. OK, maybe not, but it's a start.

We also have a litmus test for anyone running for public office: "Do you believe in climate change?" If the answer is yes, especially in light of evidence that we've been lied to for many years by those once trusted to seek out scientific truth, then that person is disqualified from office, just as they should have been even before now.

The more we think of how pervasive this issue is, the happier we should be.

We are no longer held hostage by a myth.

A Happy Thanksgiving to All

For your Turkey Day enjoyment, I give you The Muppets

Shamelessly stolen from Hot Air.

May your food fights be worthy of YouTube, may your defense of conservatism in the face of your liberal relatives be victorious, and may your team win, even if you're not awake to see them.
Give Thanks to Whomever you feel thankful to and remember our soldiers and their families.

It's Time to Repeal Global Warming Regulations

Those of us who trust our instinct and can recognize manipulation have a reason to celebrate. The revelation of e-mails in the Anglia Climate Research Unit show what many of us have suspected all along: climate data has been altered or omitted, quite possibly to an unlawful extent in order to sway public opinion and legislation. Accuracy was not in the interest of those whose efforts depended upon research grants, only the perpetuation of panic. I'll direct you to more articles here, here, and an excellent documentary here.

One thing I always wondered about this whole affair: if there were a true crisis of planet-sized proportion that endangered each and every life-form and that required such a radical reordering of life in order to mitigate the effects of it, and forced legislators of every stripe to furiously write rules and regulations and force us to spend billions of dollars on it, wouldn't we see some concrete evidence every day? Like brown skies? Overflowing lakes and rivers, not occasionally, but for many years in a row? Killer hurricanes that traverse areas previously untouched, like Montana? Something, you know, real?

I don't recall any of these things happening. Certainly nothing out of the ordinary cycle that I've seen all my life. Yet a group of people seem convinced that mankind was causing irreparable damage to the Earth by innocently living their lives and wanted me to change my lifestyle to an extent that strained most areas of logic. Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating polluting our water supplies or anything like that. Those kinds of things have very real and tangible effects on us, easily visible, definitely negative and detrimental to us all.

But I digress.

I now call upon our legislators in Washington to do the only honorable thing. I call on you to repeal each and every law and regulation that was based on what has now been proven to be a hoax. Immediately. Kindly employ the same zest and fervor you used when you wrote them to strike them from the books. Your swift action in this regard will be the only apology necessary.

The Fort Hood Massacre: The end of Multiculturalism?

Yesterday’s tragic massacre at Ft. Hood, Texas is a clear-cut case of home-grown terrorism, despite what the MSM will tell you. The shooter was a devout Muslim who shouted “Allah Akbar” as he opened fire. The reports of him being harassed because of his ideology are false. As anyone in the Army will tell you, you don’t harass a superior officer (he held the rank of Major). Expect strained explanations that dance around the truth and will portray the shooter as the victim.

There may be a positive side to this. We could very well see the beginning of the end of multiculturalism. If there ever was a reason to dismiss this absurd idea that all beliefs are equal, yesterdays' tragedy would be it. If we, as a nation, continue to adhere to this insane idea, there will only be more senseless bloodshed at the hands of jihadists.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families at Ft. Hood. May God preserve you, keep you safe, and give you strength to recover from this senseless tragedy.

One year in, Obama still blames Bush

Ace has this most excellent post up about the Whiner-in-Chief.

A year after his historic election, President Barack Obama sought to remind Americans on Wednesday the biggest problems he is grappling with -- from the economy to the war in Afghanistan -- are the legacy of his predecessor, George W. Bush.

All this could be easily cured. The Vapid One© could admit he's on the wrong track, tell Congress to stand down on the Healthcare and Cap-n-Tax bills, announce new incentives to spur private sector job creation, roll back a bunch of regulations, repeal the Community Redevelopment Act, call for a full federal investigation into ACORN and its subsidiaries, announce he'll win in Afghanistan and give Gen. McChrystal the troops he needs, give Iran 48 hours to cease their nuclear bomb program or else, announce his full and unwavering support for Israel and for the destruction of Hamas and Hezbollah, start drilling for American oil, call for 40 new nuclear power plants to begin construction immediately...

I left out a few things, but you get my point. Throw in the fact that our current recession began right after the Democrats took control of Congress and it's impossible to place the blame on anyone else but Obama, the Dems and their Marxist agenda to destroy our country, all in the name of "progress".

The Great Obama Repudiation of '09

With the first unofficial midterm elections over, Obama has received a resounding smackdown. Many pundits, myself included, think that yesterday's election was the first opportunity for voters to voice their displeasure with Obama and the Democrats' mishandling of the country. Chris Christie won the governors' race in New Jersey. Virginia rediscovered the joys of Republicanism in their gubernatorial race with a win by Bob McDonnell.

Although the Democrat won in New York's 23rd district, a message was sent to the national GOP: only fiscal conservatives need apply. Dede Scozzafava's endorsement of the Democrat in that race shows why she was a poor pick for conservatives in the area. She was just a Democrat, as her endorsement of liberal policies proved. How she wound up as the Republican is a mystery to a lot of folks. Perhaps the national GOP will remember who endorsed her and actually offer up some genuine fiscal conservatives in the future.

Naturally, Dems will disregard any win by Republicans as something far less than it is. Look forward to the spin machine running at full speed in an attempt to minimize the damage to liberals and their agenda to destroy the country.

Sarah Palin corrects The Worlds' Smartest Man (just ask him)

When it comes to energy policy, who you gonna believe, Joe Biden who voted against the Alaskan Oil Pipeline or Sarah Palin? Gateway Pundit has the story.

You gotta love Ol' Slow Joe:

“The fact of the matter is, Sarah Palin thinks the answer to energy is
‘drill, baby, drill,’” said Biden. “It’s a lot more complicated, Sarah!”

Yeah, Joe, is that why you don't want us to utilize our vast oil reserves and would prefer us to send tankers of money to the Middle East every day? Is it why you think Iran has the right to nuclear power but we don't?
