A Couple of Bits for Wednesday

Here are a few things to get you going today. B'Gal and I are still recovering from the Daytona 500 Monday night. That was one of the wildest races ever, there were two wrecks that happened right in front of us (we were seated trackside just down from the pit road exit) and Juan Pablo Montoya's crash into the track dryer was something you don't normally see in a race. Junior almost won. If he had started his charge to the front just a bit earlier, or from second place instead of third place, he might just have won his second 500. Instead, Matt Kenseth got his second 500 win. Congratulations to him. I'd have pics, but my camera has gone to that great electronic repair shop in the sky.

OK, here's number one: In a post that would be worth a few chuckles for its outright audacity and propaganda, check out this Obama tongue-bath by John Melloy over at CNBC.com. He seems to think that the stock market is up in anticipation of Obama's reelection. I almost hate to tell him that that's not exactly the case. The market is anticipating Obama's exit from office. But the best part is the comment section. Do scroll through and read what everyone else has to say to the author. They *ahem* set him straight.

Reality. What a concept that would be, huh?

The second thing is this radio interview with Uncle Ted Nugent, the Motor City Madman. It's inspirational, patriotic and appreciative of our fighting forces and the freedoms they give us. In other words, the total opposite of the type of government we're all forced to live with.

Tell us something we don't know: Obama Administration Admits It Is NOT Working To Lower Gas Prices

Well, that's it for today. Discuss amongst yourselves, leave a comment, or send a link to a friend or enemy.

BackwardsBoy, Political Consultant

(where I do my best R. Lee Ermey imitation)

OK, listen up ladies. I’m only going to say this once while I have you all in one place.

You want to win this election? Here’s what you need to do.

Cut the crap. I mean it. Have you seen your poll numbers lately? There ain’t a damned one of you that anyone wants to vote for. The only reason anybody will vote for you is that you’re not Obama.

Proud of yourselves?

Well you shouldn’t be!

What me and a few million of my fellow Americans are hearing ain’t cuttin’ it. Why are you sniping at each other and not talking about the real problems? Are you that shallow? Are you that insulated from the rest of the country that you don’t know what the rest of us are going through? Are you?

Look at me when I’m talking to you!

When was the last time any of you filled up your own gas tank with your own money? Hell, gas is $6 bucks a gallon already! Do you not know that high gas prices get passed along to everybody who buys anything that’s shipped by truck? Why do you think grocery prices are so high, cupcake?

And the deficit. Why the hell haven’t you said one damned word about how much money they’re spending up there in Washington? What’s it going for? Is it making our military forces stronger? Why hell no it’s not! Obama’s cutting back on our fighting forces while he’s busy sticking America’s nose all over the place and then calling it everything is isn’t. Kinetic military action, my ass. Anybody with an ounce of brains knows what’s going on. But do we hear one peep out of you about it? No we don’t!

And you, Rombley, or whatever your name is. What are you doing even mentioning the word “fairness” in the same sentence as tax rates? Did we interrupt your drum circle at the Occupy protest? You could’ve used that little speech the other day to educate some people, but what did you do? You pandered! Hell, no wonder your approval numbers can’t get above 25%! Who wants to vote for a damned weather vane? Hell, I can buy one at the local feed store for a lot less than you’d cost this country.

What are the rest of you laughing at, huh? I don’t see any of you doing anything to inspire people. Do I need to tell you that about 75 percent of this great country doesn’t feel like the government is doing what they want done? Seventy-five percent! That’s something to laugh about?!?

You disgust me.

Why in the hell aren’t you saying what needs to be said? Why aren’t you raking this little skinny Alinsky disciple over the coals every minute of every day after what he and that Pelosi woman and that little puke who calls himself a boxer Reid have done to this country? Hell, I’ve crapped better things than that bunch, but do we hear one word out of you about what you’d do to make things better? Do we hear anything out of you about how there needs to be a twenty percent reduction in force in Washington yesterdamnday? Why no we don’t! And why don’t any damned one of you mention a flat tax? Tell me, what the hell’s wrong with a flat tax rate of 12 per cent for everybody? NOTHING, THAT’S WHAT!!

You actually have the stones to think you can run this country? My grandmother has more spine than you do, and she’s dead!

You think being nice is going to do it? Well, DO YOU? Do you feel that it’s nice what this bunch of drug addled, washed up hippies we call an administration is busy doing to our country? Do you like that we can’t make anything here anymore and that we’re sending every dollar we can scrape up to our ChiCom buddies who’d like nothing more than to take us over when we default on their loans?

Do you like it that we’ve got a bazillion barrels of our own oil that we can’t drill for because some idiots believe that the Earth’s gonna warm up a degree or two over the next couple of CENTURIES? Does that make any sense to you?

Why of course it does. You’re politicians. You’re bred in a special facility so you won’t contaminate the rest of the population with your stupid.

You! Why are you crying? Did I hurt your widdow feelings? Well it’s about damn time somebody told you the truth. We’re tired of you playing nice with our domestic enemies! We’re sick of your pandering, your waffling and your little girly answers to these lefty reporter’s questions. When are you going to finally tell one of them they’re full of it and to ask a question that actually makes sense? Turn it around on them and show them for the liars they are! You can do it. Hell, my great-grandmother could do it. Maybe I ought to dig her up and sic her on your pathetic asses and stop wasting my time.

If you’re not going to say what needs to be said in this election and lay out exactly what you’re going to do to get this country turned around, then you’re even worse than I thought you were.

We used to have real men in this country. Men who’d call ‘em like they saw ‘em. But all we’ve got left is you.

Do I have to call your wives and get them to give me the key to the box that they keep your manhood in? Sheesh, I’ve never seen a bigger group of losers in my life as you four.

Did anything I say penetrate those thick skulls of yours? I hope so, because if it didn’t, we’re all up a creek without a paddle, and you’ll be the first ones we throw overboard! The sad thing is, none of you look like you know how to swim.

Now, get out there and show me what you’ve got! Be a real American man for once in your pathetic life and stand up for what you know in your heart is the right thing and don’t back down for a second!

Move it, move it, MOVE IT!

Exposing "Nature Fakers" in the Modern Environmental Movement

Whilst surfing the web this morning, I found this article from the Hoover Institution over at Instapundit. It's quite good and shows how long radical environmentalists have been at war with capitalism and civilization. It also deconstructs the two myths that the radical, far-left, anti-human Green Nazis depend on, the Noble Savage and the Golden Age.

Here's a sample:
A pleasing and sentimental “nature fakery” is dangerous when it fuels policies that should be based on a rational cost-benefit analysis, and that should put people and their flourishing first. Rather than pleasing myths, we need what environmental writer Gregg Easterbrook calls “ecorealism,” the sober conviction “that logic, not sentiment, is the best tool for safeguarding nature,” and that an “accurate understanding of the actual state of the environment will serve the Earth better than expressions of panic.”

Ahhh, logic and the truth. Two things in short supply in Washington.

As Dr. Reynolds would say, were he here, is "Read the whole thing" and "More of this, please."

Media Matter-Gate?

The American Spectator has a post today raises a very interesting question: Is the Media Matters connection to the White House Obama's "Watergate Moment?"

It certainly appears so.

If you've been following the Daily Caller's series, you know that several members of Media Matters have routinely visited the White House for meetings. Just think of how *ahem* beneficial it is for an administration to be able to communicate with a major outlet of propaganda news.

Gasoline hits $4 per Gallon Again, How High Will It Go?

Gasoline prices just reached $4 per gallon in California. (h/t Drudge Report)
If you think that our president is at all concerned about the negative effect that high energy prices have on the country and the economy, you'd be wrong. (h/t IBD)

It's funny, I don't recall telling anyone in Washington that I wanted expensive gas...

Daily Caller exposes Media Matters for America's Far Left Agenda

In case you haven't heard about it yet, The Daily Caller has been digging into the radical, far-left, Progressive (but I repeat myself) organization Media Matters for America.

Here is today's article. It delves into a few of MMfA's donors, among whom is your favorite anti-Christ and mine, George Soros.

It would appear as though MSNBC is a primary outlet for MMfA's propaganda. They aren't the only ones. I strongly urge you to spend some quality time over at the DC sifting through their articles on this domestic enemy. Be sure to tell your friends too, as I'm surprised by the people I've talked to who have never heard of MMfA or their role in distorting the "news" and spreading disinformation.

It's their goal to keep you confused and mislead.

Friday Bits of Tid - It's Alive!

A big ol' hound dog howdy to ya'll.

I'm back. I've been recharging my batteries lo these many months and it's time to get back to work. Well, this isn't really work, at least not in the traditional sense. It's more a labor of love, no wait, it's not that either. A compulsion? Yeah, that might be a bit closer to the mark...

Anyway, it's time to let all this boundless energy out before the batteries get so full they start leaking. I have a few things in mind to do here, such as playing around with the layout and the design. After a couple of years, this place could use some sprucing up. So indulge me if you will as I play with a few things like background colors and such. Gotta keep up with the times, donchaknow.

After checking my traffic stats, I noticed that a lot of you have told your friends about this place, as the hit count has increased a bit while I've been on vacation. I stop writing for a while, and I start getting more traffic. Go figure. Thanks for spreading the word. Blog hits are the currency of the Intarwebs, so if you find something here you like, please send links to other blogs, friends, co-workers, family members, even people you don't like. I'm not picky.

We have some work to do to get our country back on track. By any measure, the Obama administration has been an abject failure. There have been a few bright spots, like the recent killing of LightSquared by the FCC, but much remains to be done.

I've been watching the Republican presidential debates, as I'm sure you all have. To say there is a weak field of candidates would be an understatement. It appears to be Romney's "turn" in much the same manner as it was John McCains' "turn" in 2008. Even though Rick Santorum is currently leading in a few national polls over Romney, I don't expect that to last.

This is a rather unusual race. We don't have a clearly conservative candidate. As you may remember, my money was on Rick Perry to win it all. In my opinion, he had the best platform, the best record of accomplishment, and the best ideas. However, he pretty much shot himself in the foot when he uttered his famous statement about "not having a heart" if you opposed illegal immigration. He did walk that comment back, but he could never unsay it. At least he's a good shot...

Rick Santorum, well, what can I say about The Sweater Vest that hasn't already been said? He's the Not-Romney of the hour. While he does have some fairly strong attributes, his record of fiscal restraint during his time in Washington isn't strong. It seems to this Boy that he's concentrating more on social conservatism in order to take advantage of the uproar that resulted from this administration's recent ruling that the Catholic Church must provide contraception in its healthcare plans for all its employees, thus trampling on their doctrines and ignoring the Constitution (again). That's all well and good, Mr. Santorum, but that's not the biggest problem we face right now.

Newt Gingrich is essentially gone, a victim of his erraticness (I hope that's a word). If he could've maintained his focus on the president instead of the other candidates, he might still be the front runner. Remember how he positioned himself as the Great Uniter in the early debates and mixed it up with the liberal lefty moderators, challenging their assumptions? Good times...

Ron Paul has some good ideas about domestic fiscal policies, but his foreign policies are the stuff of, um, something, I'm not sure what. How he can say that we've caused all our own troubles in the Mideast is amazing. He's even said he can't see himself in the White House. Fortunately, neither can the rest of the country.

So, we're left to wonder why we have such a poor field of candidates from which to choose. Obama is an easy target in this election. His record is abysmal, but no one seems to be taking advantage of that by pointing it out. We are so much worse off than we were four years ago, and his lack of leadership and poor decisions are directly to blame. It's been said more than once: if Obama was intentionally trying to bring the country down, what would he be doing differently?

It is my sincere hope that our current national crises, which are becoming legion, will awaken the sleeping masses to politics and all the malfeasance contained therein. Just sitting back, smug in the comfort of an XBox, or American Idol or the latest celebrity news doesn't cut it any more.

As unpleasant as it is, our political system is like a cat's litter box. It's disgusting, but it still has to be cleaned out.

We have to do it. So many things are at stake. We have domestic enemies who must be exposed and disarmed. We have to start holding our elected officials to a high standard of accountability. Americans self-identify as conservative by a nearly two-to-one margin over liberals, yet, as Newt pointed out during one of the debates, the majority view is not being represented in Washington.

This must end. Ask yourself if gave your approval for anyone in Washington to strangle our economy. I sure didn't. Yet, that is exactly why we're in our current situation. We no longer have control of our government. It's being operated by people and organizations that don't share our simple values. Many things that the average citizen wants, such as securing our borders and developing our own energy resources, aren't happening.

We can change things. We must change things. We can rid ourselves of Progressivism, that insidious cancer that is trying to kill the body of Freedom by excising it wherever it is found.

In closing, I'll link this excellent post from my reluctant mentor, Mr. Ace of Spades. It's just a thought, but it's a good one.

You'll also notice a new link in the sidebar to American Majority Racing. This is a new conservative political organization that taps a wellspring of Americana, NASCAR fans, among whom I and BackwardsGirl proudly count ourselves. We'll be at the NationWide race next Saturday to cheer on Jason Bowles, driver of the number 81 Dodge Challenger, the red, white and blue car. If I can get my digital camera to operate properly, I'll post some pics if I can. I urge you to click on their link and help support them.

All right, y'all. That's about enough for today. I'll be posting infrequently, but I will be posting.

Be careful out there.
