$1000 Worth of Digital Fascism from Mozilla

Mozilla, the company that makes the web browser Firefox, committed the only unforgivable sin progressives have – it hired someone who didn’t toe the progressive line to be its CEO. Uniformity of thought is the new black, and a straying from that plantation lands you on the new blacklist. That’s where Brendan Eich finds himself now for daring to stray from the progressives’ plantation on gay marriage.

How did Eich stray? Did he take to the streets, shout from the mountaintop, or even take an active role in a campaign? No, he wrote a check, for all of $1,000, to support the campaign in favor of California’s Proposition 8 – the gay marriage ban which was supported overwhelmingly by voters. Not to have gays rounded up and killed or put in camps (those are progressive traits), or even to have homosexuality outlawed, but simply to not change the definition of marriage to fit the political flavor of the moment.

*sigh* I miss the old days when we didn't have to explain sex to children...

Or Progressivism.

Eich’s donation in support of Prop 8 was confidential, by law. The only reason it is known, why any of the donations are known, is the Internal Revenue Service illegally leaked the donor list to a gay rights group who posted it online. Someone in government broke the law and gave what amounts to a “hit list” to progressive foot soldiers who have been targeting donors for their personal beliefs.

In this case it was gay groups, but these tactics are a favorite of progressives. Under communism people who didn’t embrace their agenda were purged, under fascism the nonconformists were sent to re-education/work camps, or killed. Progressives can’t simply murder or imprison people who flee their thought plantation, though they’d like to, so they try to ruin them in the meantime.

As we can see from the despicable actions against Eich, Progressives have no love of freedom. Seriously, if you don't like it here, just fucking leave. It's a big wide world out there with plenty of restrictions placed on everybody. Some of us enjoy our country the way it was and don't want it changed.

I'm Honored, Once Again, to be an SOB.

Yesterday's speech by President Obama in Detroit in front of a large union crowd was, um, interesting, to say the least. Teamster Union President Jimmy Hoffa Jr. had high praise for the Tea Party...

"We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They've got a war, they got a war with us and there's only going to be one winner. It's going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We're going to win that war," Jimmy Hoffa said to a heavily union crowd.

"President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong," Hoffa added.
That last sentence served to highlight Mr. Hoffa's command of language and his stellar communication skills, something I'm sure he advocates to all of his union members.

The Teamsters must be so proud of their leader.

We know President Obama is, he said so immediately afterwards in his speech.

So, I'm a son-of-a-bitch now? Gee, it was just a couple of weeks ago, I was told by a Congresscritter that I could go to hell. If that's not the best reason to pay taxes, I don't know what is.

Is this a great country or what?

Even Old Slow Joe Biden took a swipe at me in another speech yesterday. He called me a barbarian. And this was after he called me a terrorist a few weeks earlier.

Was it something I said? Was it my vote for Marco Rubio that did it? You never talk to me anymore, you just lash out and call me names. You've changed. You're always so angry.

Do you really think all of your hateful rhetoric will cause me to change my mind?

I have no hate in my heart for you. You, on the other hand, seem filled with hatred towards me. If you want to start a war, I'll be more than happy to oblige you, but we'll both know who started it.

So will everyone else.

And you will not win.

Change You Can Believe In – Actual Inflation is Near 10%

If you’ve been to the grocery store or the gas station lately, you may have noticed something. This “something” is a rapid rise in prices. It’s also something Washington struggles mightily to deny.
So, what are you going to believe? The government or your lying eyes? *rimshot!*

It almost seems like someone (or a group of someones) doesn’t want to tell you the truth about the economy. However, some truths cannot be hidden, lied about, or massaged. Money is like that.

You will doubtless recall how our unemployment rate was expressed in the Days Before Obama. There are several measurements that the government uses to track that figure, with the most popular being the U-3 statistic. (Click here for the Bureau of Labor Statistic’s page, scroll down to the chart on page 2.) But today’s long-term unemployed are skewing that number. If you’ve been out of work and can no longer qualify for unemployment compensation, you aren’t counted as being unemployed.

While that figure is still in use, the Obama administration fabricated a metric, “jobs saved or created.” If you’ve never heard of that phrase before, you’re not alone. No one else had either. It’s essentially meaningless since there is no accurate way to measure whether or not a job has been “saved.” Maybe it suddenly got religion.

The methods used to calculate inflation have changed over the years. The method used in the ’70’s isn’t the same method in use today. Even the BLS says so.

“Some have argued that if the CPI were computed using the methods in place in the late 1970s, the index would now be growing at a rates as high as 11 or 12 percent per year.” (This was written in 2008.)
Well, it just so happens that someone has figured today’s inflation using those methods in place in the late ‘70’s. You’ll never guess what they found. Never in a million years.

Inflation is nearing 10%. And that number is just for February.

I don’t need to tell you that.

But someone needs to tell Washington. We know that prices are rising much faster than what we’re being told. We also know why. It’s in the interests of any administration that the public not be told the truth about the terrible economy. An inflation rate of 10% usually means disaster for whoever has his feet on the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office.

Almost as surprising as this number is, what’s even more surprising is where this nugget of information is found. CNBC.com.

Now I don’t for a second think this will make it to the evening news on any of the alphabet stations of the Make Believe Media, but folks will eventually find this out. And it’s not like it’s actual news. We’ve known it for a while now, but it’s always nice to see a bit of validation.

This is particularly noteworthy since President Obama is set to give us a speech on the budget. Our deficit is the highest in history and is in large part responsible for the sagging economy. Government spending is clearly out of control, taken to unprecedentedly new and unsustainable levels by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid during the last two years of their Reign of Terror in Congress.

As usual, I’ll be washing Fido, my imaginary pooch, instead of listening to that speech.

He stinks almost as much as our economy.

Protestors Desecrate War Memorial in Wisconsin

This is a video you should see, even if it is a Saturday morning.

You will not be pleased.

The level of disrespect shown towards the very men and women who gave their lives to defend the protesters' right to speak is truly astonishing and shameful. One of the protesters even says she constructs memorials, so shouldn't she know about proper behavior and treatment of one?

Everybody Draw Mohammed Day!

At least this blog would draw a pic of Mohammed, if this blog could draw. So, it'll do the next best thing and write about it.

I once worked in a machine shop where the foreman one day stated, to everyone's surprise, that he couldn't stand "Florida shirts". Just about everyone either has seen them or owns one: they're loud, garishly appointed and are designed to scream "I'm on vacation!" even when you live in the Midwest and the coast is two days' drive away. We thought this was curious since the shop was located in, you guessed it, Florida.

Naturally, we all made sure we wore a Florida shirt to work on payday from then on.

Hey, we're sensitive that way.

Now, imagine that attitude towards Islam spread all over the world and you pretty much have Everybody Draw Mohammed Day. Which is today.

Essentially, it's a thumb of the nose to those who take great offense at a simple illustration. You may remember the worldwide uproar over the Mohammed cartoons in 2006. Michelle Malkin does, as she reminds her readers here. Many have forgotten that the cartoons were originally published months earlier without fanfare or much notice, until a few imams decided to manufacture some outrageous outrage and issue death threats to the illustrators and challenge one of  the Wests' most cherished principles, free speech.

It should be noted that the imams attempted to deceive the public by including a few images of their own that had nothing to do with the original drawings, such as one image from a hog-calling contest.

Many other bloggers-in-arms are promoting today as the first official rejection of this blatant attempt to silence us Westerners.

National Review Online is on board. So is Pajamas Media with Zombie's thoughts here. Hot Air asks if this is a good idea with an online poll here.

But perhaps the best article to answer Hot Air's question is at Big Hollywood. Why Everyone in the Civilized World Must Support "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day".

As Islam attempts to fulfill its' mandate of world domination through the word or the sword, they can expect to meet increasingly stiff resistance. We Westerners don't take kindly to being told what to say or do. In fact, America fought wars over this idea, and we'll do it again should we need to.

After all, we're constantly reminded by those who live in the land of multiculturalism that one religion is essentially the same as another. If Christianity must endure charicatures of Jesus (or worse, far worse in many cases), then Islam must endure the same sort of thing.

We're all equal in the eyes of God. Just sayin'.

Hmmm, I wonder if anyone's drawn Mo on an Etch-A-Sketch yet?
