Obama Hearts Occupiers

You'll love this.

Documents obtained by Judicial Watch confirm that somebody in the White House told officials with the General Services Administration (GSA) to "stand down" and not arrest Occupy Portland protestors who may have broken the law last year.
Former GSA Public Buildings Service Commissioner Robert Peck told a senior Department of Homeland Security official that the federal housekeeping agency had been instructed by the Obama White House to go easy on the Occupy protestors.

In a Nov. 6, 2011, DHS/National Protection and Programs Directorate Chief of Staff Caitlin Durkovich asked GSA's Peck if it was true that his agency had asked Federal Protective Service officials not to take action against the Occupy Portland protestors.
"Yes, that is our position," Peck responded. "It's been vetted with our Administrator and Michael Robertson, our chief of staff, and we have communicated with the WH [White House], which has afforded us the discretion to fashion our approach to Occupy issues...The arrests last week were carried out despite our request that the protesters [sic] be allowed to remain and to camp overnight..."
How many more days before we get to kick this administration out of office?

A Couple of Radical, Far-Right Protest Songs

...and by "radical, far-right," I mean average Americans as seen through the lens of the decidedly leftist media and their Washington enablers.

I suppose if the "Teat Party" can do it, so can we.

These protests are becoming rather tedious. I suppose there will always be a certain sector of America that just doesn't have a clue about how the real world works. Having been indoctrinated throughout their lives to leftist thought in schools and being forced to watch such drivel as AlGore's An Inconvenient Truth and the Story of Stuff in class, they can no longer think for themselves. It sure doesn't help when their parents don't have critical thinking skills, either.

I'll carbon-date myself once again to say that there was once a time when one outgrew such infantilities. Things like having a job and raising a family did much to teach a young adult the way of the world. But since we've entered The Fallacious Period of man, this seems lost.

I am most definitely in the wrong line of work. I should become a Professional Protester. It pays much more than I'm making now, but from what I've read, the working conditions are somewhat less than ideal. (h/t to Ace) Whoa, maybe that's not such a good idea after all. It seems that the Axelturfers call for a "living wage," but won't pay their stooges that much? (h/t Insty) It seems like there's an Alinsky Rule for that. Number 4, I believe.

OK, time's getting short, so here are the songs I promised.

Hank Williams Jr. tells ESPN and Fox and Friends to take this job and shove it, kinda sorta.

And this would be a great counter-protest song, too. Ignore the video part, as it seems to have nothing at all to do with the song itself, plus it's NSFW.

Do the protesters get a bonus for crapping on a police car? If not, why not?

A Tale of Two Flag Burnings - A Watershed Moment for America

Something happened Wednesday that you should know about. Before I show y’all the videos, I need to relate the whole story to you as best I know it.

It began when a Columbian student enrolled in Louisiana State University, upset at the death of Osama bin Laden, decided to protest the United States early on May 2 by defacing the LSU War Memorial, cutting down the American and LSU flags and setting fire to the American flag. From Gateway Pundit.

An LSU student wanted as a suspect in connection with the damage of the school’s war memorial, which included the burning of an American flag, has turned himself in to school police, according to the university.

Isaac Eslava, 23, a resident of Baton Rouge was being sought for two counts of simple damage to property, one count of arson, one count of theft and one count of resisting an officer.

Eslava holds dual citizenship for the United States and Colombia. During the early morning hours of May 2, the LSU War Memorial was damaged. The flag mast rope was cut down, the United States flag set afire and the LSU flag stolen. An LSU staff member alerted LSU Police, who responded to the area. LSU Police located the suspect nearby, but was unable to detain him.

During this initial response, police recovered a stolen vehicle, which was used by the suspect. The LSU flag was recovered from inside of the vehicle along with drug paraphernalia, a clothing item belonging to the suspect, and red and black spray paint.

LSU Police Detectives later identified the suspect and recovered the knife suspected to have been used to cut the rope. The knife still had flag mast rope fibers along the blade. Detectives also learned that on the same morning The Venue Apartments located north of campus were vandalized by graffiti using red and black spray paint and were able to connect the suspect to the crime.

He is shown here shortly after his arrest.

This incident prompted graduate student Benjamin Haas to stage his own protest of Eslava’s arrest by attempting to burn yet another American flag.

This is what Haas had planned to say during his protest (from lsureville.com),

"I initially began this flag burning protest to define due process for students and suspected terrorists alike, to call on LSU and universities across the country to defend basic human rights and avoid putting students into the criminal justice system when it can be taken care of internally," the pre-written text of Haas's speech read. "In the name of peace, there will be no flag burning today. This country and the flag that flies over it stands for freedom, democracy, love, peace and the ability to question our government.”

Haas seems oblivious to the facts surrounding Eslava’s arrest. Eslava did not burn his own flag. He was arrested for destruction of property, vandalism, arson, and theft. Due process was carried out in accordance with the law. Note that Haas wants to “define due process.” He needn't worry his pretty little head about that: wiser souls have already done that for him.

His concern for suspected terrorists is oh so compassionate. Too bad he doesn’t hold such compassion for the innocent victims of terrorism.

As a staunch Alabama fan, I’m contractually obligated to say, “Is this what they teach at LSU?”

Anyway, in a massive show of patriotism and non-violence by the student body and others, Haas’ protest didn’t quite go as planned, as the following video shows.

Bill Ayers was unavailable for comment.

This is a watershed moment for the country. This demonstration shows just how badly outnumbered the radical left is, despite their seeming prevalence on the major news outlets of the MSM and in academia. I detect one of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals being revealed, “Rule 1: Power is not only what you have, but what an opponent thinks you have. If your organization is small, hide your numbers in the dark and raise a din that will make everyone think you have many more people than you do.”

As the videos show, the crowd of counter-protesters was vast, vocal and raucous. And also non-violent. And indicative of the left’s true numbers.

They're also aware of their rights. (language warning)

This is all kinds of good. The Formerly-Silent Majority has found its voice, thanks in no small part to the Tea Party movement. Personally, I’d like to see more of this type of protest where the radical left is shouted down as the poseur hypocrites that they are. If they’re so disillusioned with the US that they feel moved to protest yet they take full advantage of the freedoms and opportunities that abound here, then they should be shouted down, loudly and non-violently. If they find America not to their liking, they are free to leave us in peace and relocate to another country that’s more in line with their decidedly anti-American views.

Remember that it was Socrates who originally said, “America, Love It or Leave It.”

Or words to that effect.

Note: This should have been posted yesterday, but got eaten by the Interwebs.

Idiocy on Parade – What We’re Up Against

Glenn Beck played a video clip the other day that you should watch. As a side note, whether you love or hate Beck, you’d be wise to at least listen to what he has to say.

Language warning.

There are so many things wrong in that clip that it’s difficult to know where to start. From ideologies that have failed spectacularly in the past, to economic ignorance, to psychological denial and plain, old brainwashing, it’s all there. If I was that kids’ parent, I’d be embarrassed to show my face in public. The sad part is his parents likely think the same way.

First off, this kid seems to think that the whole world belongs to him. The notion of personal ownership never seems to occur to him. “What’s mine is mine, and what’s yours is mine, too” is his credo. Normally, one must go to a day-care center to find this highly intellectual concept, but here it is in the hallway of the Wisconsin statehouse.

Immaturity is also present in the meeting, where one fellow just wants to tax the rich and have someone else "clean up the mess.” Whoever edited that clip deserves an Oscar for highlighting the number of times that guy says, “I feel.” And I have no reason to doubt the dude when he says that. That’s a big part of what passes for leftist thought, emotion. Logic and reality have no room to operate inside the brain of a liberal, as emotionality takes up every available space.

But the best part starts at the 3:38 mark, where the Socialist man-child starts to bemoan the tyrannical working conditions at the restaurant where he works. How he got hired in the first place is a mystery. He seems to think that the owner should abdicate his position and take his place alongside his workers to unite in a paradise where all are equal before the fry station and no one actually performs any work.

I watched this with equal parts of humor and outrage. The humor part came from listening to the madness and wondering how anyone with two functioning brain cells to rub together could be so stupid. The outrage part came from understanding that these idiots are serious about their goals of tearing down the country and are busily working to make it happen.

Oh, and there’s also hypocrisy. I almost forgot about that. Towards the end, there’s an exchange that shouldn’t have happened, given all the anti-capitalistic talk that preceded it and gives lie to the earlier statement by the woman who said that markets don’t work.

Our little socialist man-child is more than happy to sell a copy of his organization’s magazine to the videographer.

Quid Pro Quo or How Good Government Went Bad

The current stalemate in Wisconsin offers us a good lesson in how not to operate a government. Public sector union pensions are in the process of causing a genuine meltdown of the state’s budget, draining monies from needed infrastructure into pension plans that the rest of the working populace can only dream about. This budget crisis has been brewing for decades, with unions seeking ever-increasing benefits that seemed almost reasonable during good economic times. However, the tenuous nature of our economy, which has been teetering on the edge of fiscal responsibility for years, has awakened the good citizens of Wisconsin and America to the fact that we can no longer continue to give the unions each and every little thing their hearts desire. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker puts it plainly when he says, “We’re broke.”

One only needs to listen to Richard Trumka and his outrageous Socialist rhetoric to know that this has been planned.

While teachers call in “sick” and unscrupulous doctors write fake notes so the teachers can get paid to protest, the parents who have to take days off to tend to their children or pay daycare are not amused. The rest of the country is starting to see the unions, rightfully, as the spoiled children that they are. As the details of the unions’ demands emerge, we’re seeing that the public sector unions have an awfully sweet deal, with above average pay and benefits that the average American doesn’t have.

While the rest of us are tightening our belts, the unions are screaming that their rights are being taken away from them, that Governor Walker is Hitler, or a dictator like Egypt’s Mubarak, or any number of other false, immature accusations.

Cartoon by Phil Hands of the Wisconsin State Journal.

Wisconsin’s Democratic senators are no better, fleeing the state rather that performing their sworn duty to uphold the state’s constitution and effectively manage the budget.

Sports fans, this is exactly what happens when we choose the wrong people for elective office.

Mr. Boy, you ask, how do we know when we’ve done that? What are the signs of corruption in politics?

I thought you’d never ask.

It’s simple. It’s also Standard Operating Procedure in Third World Countries. One hand washes the other, scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours, or its most eloquent title, Quid Pro Quo. It’s called by several names, but the principle is the same.

And it’s not how our government is supposed to work.

In a perfect world, a political donor would contribute to a candidate on principle, and expect nothing in return except good, honorable and honest government in accordance with the Constitution. Everyone would benefit indirectly from this, as the economic tide would rise for all the ships.

But this has been twisted into corruption where today a donor expects (quite wrongly) a direct benefit from a campaign donation. Nowhere is this perversion of the Constitution more evident than in the waivers the Obama administration has given to cronies to avoid the onerous restrictions of ObamaCare, over 700 so far.

One could argue (quite rightly) that this action is unconstitutional. What’s the point of passing a law that only applies to Americans of a certain political affiliation? This action clearly runs counter to the Equal Protection Clause in the Fourteenth Amendment. You don’t need to be a constitutional scholar or a Supreme Court Justice to understand the simple principle that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law.

I’m frankly surprised that the Supreme Court hasn’t already weighed in on this aspect of the administration’s selective enforcement of the law. While I haven’t studied the details of the various states’ lawsuits seeking relief from ObamaCare, this should be the first item on the agenda. What use is the High Court if it will not to step in and warn this administration that it’s violating the Constitution?

It’s just this simple, either we adhere to the nations’ legal foundation, or we don’t. It’s written in plain enough language that people (except certain writers for the New York Times) can understand it.

A Drive-By Post, Truth in Action

From Ace of Spades and the Morons (hereafter referred to as the Pudding Patrol).

Click this link to Founding Bloggers and watch the vids, especially the first one where Andrew Breitbart dispels a crowd of protestors with nothing but questions. It is priceless.

The move begins!

A Protest in Your Front Yard: SEIU Thugs on Parade

Imagine a quiet day, punctuated by the occasional bird call or jet overhead. Suddenly, 14 school buses pull up on the street in front of your house and spill their contents on your yard: 500 angry protestors. Now imagine you're not home, but your teen-aged son is there alone, defenseless against the horde should they decide to become violent. His life could very well be at stake and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it but watch in horror.

If you're Bank of America deputy general counsel for corporate law Greg Baer, you don't have to imagine this scene. It actually happened to him last Sunday.

It just so happens that Fox News contributor Neena Easton lives next door to Baer and filed this report. There's more behind the protest, namely the fact that SEIU owes BofA more than $90 million, amounting to over $4M in fees and interest alone.

We're used to protests. We see them all the time. Previously, these protests had been limited to places of business. But this one was different and disturbing because it happened at a private residence.

There are many questions that have yet to be answered concerning this violation of human rights by the SEIU thugs.

Why were the police complicit in this protest? Why wasn't a permit issued? How were these protestors allowed to tresspass on private property. How were they able to use school buses for transportation to an illegal act? Could this happen again? Are we safe from this type of protest in our homes?

Why is the MSM ignoring the virulent protest of a private citizen on his own property, yet still maintaining the Tea Parties are violent and racist?

Perhaps it's time for our side to get up close and personal with the thugs in the SEIU. This blog would start with criminal trespassing charges, incitement to riot, kidnapping of a minor (a stretch, granted, but a case could be made for false imprisonment), demonstrating without a permit and any other transgression that could be applied. Make an example of all those involved at any level and throw the book at them.

Heavy fines and some jail time will restore these protests to their proper place: in public, legally and with the police present.
