Let's Play 20 Questions

Here's an intriguing post that I found over at BadBlue.

20 Questions that Atheists Need to be Able to Answer.

It just so happens that I and the Moron Horde briefly touched on this the other day. As you know, I consider myself a Christian, whether or not The Big Guy does remains to be seen. Fingers are crossed.

I'm drawn to discussion and exploration of the idea, the more analytical, the better. This is easier said than done, because few things arouse the passions more than religion. I try to approach these discussions from a scientific angle, testing the author's assertions against my own experience and what I know to be true. A big part of this comes from my years in manufacturing and my daily dealings with the laws of physics. This experience has given me an appreciation for how things get made, so it's a simple matter to scale up that appreciation to the size of Reality.

I don't think that science and religion are mutually exclusive of each other. The urge and effort to make sense of the universe tends to answer just one question: What is it?

Religion asks: Why is it?

Here is where the difference in the scale of the complexity of the answer approaches infinity. Anything you can possibly imagine has been considered as the basis for what we call Creation. I mean anything, regardless of whether it makes sense or not.

To paraphrase Han Solo, "I can imagine quite a bit."

Rather than waste a lifetime making guesses about things, logic would dictate that you begin at the beginning. Science does this. It's a baseline, or rather The Baseline, for what we see all around us. We call this Reality.

Observe, test, observe some more, test some more, ad infinitum, seeking accuracy at all times. And always trying to ask the right questions.

Which brings us back, oddly enough, to 20 Questions.

I want to make one thing perfectly clear: this is not a dig against atheists. Your personal belief are yours, and because I wouldn't want to be judged for mine, I won't judge you for yours. And I'm certainly not going to try to "convert" you. That's just rude. The whole point of religion is that it originates from inside you, a true introspection. This is intended as a friendly conversation, much as we would discuss sports.

I really mean that.

And just so you know, I was agnostic at one time.

So, this question is pretty important:

And here's my take:

You have so many years to find what you should be looking for, which is a spiritual union with God. This union softens the heart, and allows for the qualities of forgiveness, compassion and empathy. It also imparts great strength of character and enables you to see what is true, and especially what isn't. This is the driving force behind my conservatism.

Only man stands on the edge of two worlds, one spiritual, the other material. We are born into the material, separate from God and Heaven: hence the phrase "born in sin." We must find our way back home in this life, much like the Prodigal Son. It isn't easy, and there are many detours and roadblocks along the way, but if we're grounded in Reality and Truth, we're always shown which way to go thanks to that spiritual union.
,
And here are a few of the 20 Questions:
1. What caused the universe to exist?
3. Why is the universe rational?
9. How is independent thought possible in a world ruled by chance and necessity?
10. How do we account for self-awareness?
11. How is free will possible in a material universe?
12. How do we account for conscience?
13. On what basis can we make moral judgements?
15. Why do human beings matter?
18. How do we know the supernatural does not exist?
19.How can we know if there is conscious existence after death?
20. What accounts for the empty tomb, resurrection appearances and growth of the church?
21. What's a henway?

I may have added that last one.

The author continues, and makes a point that I've been pondering for a few months now: Is it Time to make a decision? To choose sides? Will this question be asked of everyone sooner than we think?

So here’s the deal. It seems to me that there we can either search for and find answers to these questions, and then adjust our behavior to fit even if we will be less happy and fulfilled, or we can make our happiness and personal autonomy in this life the most important thing, and invent answers to these questions that are speculative. Either we live consistently with the evidence we have now, or we live how we want and hope for future evidence that will overturn the evidence we have now.

I think that this is the choice that we are facing as humans. Either we make truth the top priority, and let our lives change in order to respond to the evidence we have right now or we make our happiness the top priority and speculate that the universe is other than the way it is so that we can pursue happiness unencumbered by the obligation to know the Creator and Designer of the universe.

Everyone always talks about “the meaning of life”. I’ll tell you what the meaning of life is. It’s to puzzle about the questions above and get into an intimate, loving, self-sacrificial relationship with the Creator and Designer of the universe – a relationship bounded by facts, not feelings. What is so objectionable with the idea that there might be a Person out there who has a claim on us? So long as his intentions are good, why are we so unwilling to be his friend and to take his character into account when we decide what we will do with our lives?

Very well put indeed.

Newsday Wednesday

There is a lot of good news on the Intarwebz today, buckaroos and buckarettes. The tide is turning against the Communist/Progressive, anti-American direction of the Obama administration. We're waking up from a national nightmare.

Mitt Romney has clinched the Republican nomination with his primary win in Texas last night. Now that he's the official nominee, it's time for him to lay out a few specific goals for his presidency. Here's where he can begin: with an energy policy that works.

Mitt also needs to ask Obama why he embraces Al Sharpton. As you may know, the Progressive Pravda media machine (the MSM) is attempting to make great hay by attempting to link Romney and Donald Trump over "birtherism." To them, even though there is a Constitutional birth and residence requirement, anyone who questions Obama's birth is a crazy, reich-wing-nut conspiracy theorist wearing a tin-foil hat (with antennae).

I'd still like to see Mitt present his birth certificate to Congress, just for shits and giggles.

I'd also like to see Mitt repudiate Obama for ignoring our Constitution and enforcing the controversial Law of the Sea Treaty. In case you haven't heard about it, it's the latest effort from the One World Governmentalists (read Progressive/Communists, our enemies, again) to cede our sovereignty to the United Nations and a whole passel of unelected bureaucrats.

Preezy Obameezy managed to piss off an entire country, mentions "Polish death camps" despite there being no such thing during WWII. The camps were run by Germans who were occupying the nation. Smooth move, there, President Ex-Lax.

Here's the best news of the morning, at least to me. All my cousins back home in Alabama should be proud of themselves for electing politicians who are fighting back against the United Nations and it's onerous Agenda 21. Here's some background, in case you don't know what it is. Governor Bentley signed Senate Bill # 477 that prohibits the state from taking private property without due process.

And, here's one last thing to make your day: President Obama awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Tuesday to Dolores Huerta, an 82-year-old labor activist and co-founder of the United Farm Workers union.

Huerta is also an honorary chair of the Democratic Socialists of America.

They are also our enemies, just so you know.

ADDED: Oh, I almost forgot this video which stars Andrew Breitbart. Enjoy.

Have a nice day, y'all.

The Shocking Video that was Banned by YouTube

OK, y'all. Get ready to be shocked.

The following video has been banned by YouTube for its highly inflammatory remarks. This blog has obtained a copy of the highly controversial transmission through some questionable channels, and is presented here in its entirety.

Language warning for plain speaking, common sense, Christianity and personal opinion, all of which are strictly prohibited under the Obama Regime.

It would appear that stating traditional values is now a ThoughtCrime.

Memorial Day, 2012

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

What You Should Know About the Left's Personal Terrorist, Brett Kimberlin

The past few days have been hell for a fellow conservative blogger named Robert Stacy McCain. He and his family have been forced to flee his former residence and is now in hiding, thanks to a convicted domestic terrorist-turned left-wing activist named Brett Kimberlin, also known as the Speedway Bomber.

He is on the payroll of Teresa Heinz-Kerry, Barbara Streisand and your favorite anti-Christ and mine, George Soros.

Here's an introduction to the left's very own personal terrorist:

I wonder if Little Billy Ayers is jealous?

More info here. And here.

From the last link to Fox News in 2010...

Even before his release from prison 10 years ago, Brett Kimberlin had learned a lesson that has served him well: If you publicly accuse a well-known political figure of crimes or misdeeds -- even without proof -- publicity and money will follow.

Kimberlin, a convicted bomber and drug dealer, learned that lesson in 1988, when he claimed from his prison cell that he had been Dan Quayle’s marijuana dealer in college. The claim got a lot of attention because Quayle was running for vice president of the United States at the time.

Now, 22 years later, Kimberlin has taken that lesson and made unfounded accusations a profession of sorts. Using two popular leftist blogs, the 56-year-old from Bethesda, Md., has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars from the public and left-leaning foundations by promising to put conservatives he disagrees with in jail, often with offers of large rewards. So far -- without success -- he has called for the arrest of Karl Rove, Andrew Breitbart, Chamber of Commerce head Tom Donohue, Massey Energy Chairman Don Blankenship and other high-profile public figures.

This guy is a bad actor and the Left loves him. It's curious how many times he has been allowed, through the non-actions of various state prosecutors, to slip through the cracks. He should be back in jail.

OWS Rampage in San Francisco - The Video

How lovely. Here's a video, posted by the perpetrators themselves, of the destruction they wreaked in San Fransisco on April 30.

These are the same people Nancy Pelosi just adores.

I can't wait until the business owners start suing the city for failure to enforce the law.

EPA Takes Over NASCAR

Oh, great.

NASCAR has been hijacked by the EPA. The fans aren't happy (nor should we be), as the comments in this link show. One does wonder, given the well-known intimidation tactics of this corrupt, Progressive/Marxist administration, what NASCAR was threatened with. I find it difficult to believe that Bill France Jr. did this on his own.

In all fairness, we should've known this was coming when American Ethanol was introduced into the fuel. As you know, ethanol is made primarily from corn, which is food. This drives up the cost of everything that uses corn and depletes our food supply for absolutely no reason other than to satisfy the radical, far-left, mankind-hating eliminationists who psychotically think that we're a pox on the planet. It just so happens that these idiots are in charge of our energy policy. Not to mention that the ethanol makes gasoline less efficient and destroys various components of your older vehicle's fuel system.

It also plays into the man-made global warming hoax.

It's just sad that a racing organization can be corrupted by this administration.

Is nothing sacred?

Society Has Changed - Um, No, it's Been Changed

Fair warning: I'm in Full Curmudgeon Mode again. You can get off my lawn, but I want you to watch something first.

This ties in with something that Breitbart.com reported over the weekend that you should know about. A North Carolina teacher yells at a student for daring to ask a question about Obama. After listening to this insane rant, I'll let you decide if this is the type of person who should be inside a classroom at all.

I think not. At least she's been suspended, although with pay. So, in essence, she gets a head start on her summer vacation. Some punishment.

Anyway, this got me to thinking how much things have been changed since I was a kid, witnessing the invention and development of the wheel by my Uncle Og. Those were heady days indeed.

I guess I'm unique in my powers of recall, although I shouldn't be. I'm on the tail end of the Baby Boomer Generation, so there are a lot of folks my age in America who were witness to the times I remember. My point is that there has been such a rapid transformation of our society during my brief lifetime, something that wasn't spontaneous.

I believe it was planned. Planned and executed.

By our enemies.

I'm not alone in thinking this. Through the wonder of the Intarwebz, we have available to us the world's largest library. If you're not making full use of this marvelous invention to educate yourself and truly expand your horizons, you do yourself a great disservice.

Anyway, whilst marveling at the changes that have occurred in society from what was a cohesive American community of thought and ideas, I ran across this video:

Hmm. Now let's see if I have this right: We have a stated enemy who has sworn to bury us (Google the term "we will bury you," just for fun). They have stated their goals to bring us down (the video above). Today, I look around and see that an awful lot of the things that they said they'd do, they've actually done.

I don't see where I'm wrong in that. Your mileage may vary.

But, again, I'm not alone in thinking this, nor have I come to it recently. Here's another video for your viewing pleasure:

This transformation of American society from one that upheld American values such as freedom, individual responsibility, honesty, integrity, Faith and many other wholesome virtues has been breathtaking to me. Just a bit of research shows that it hasn't happened by accident. The evidence is all around us.

None of these societal changes in the past 50 years were a spontaneous outgrowth of a maturing society. They're just about as spontaneous as the OWSer protests, which are all carefully planned, despite Nancy Pelosi's insistence to the contrary.

Got that? In short, we've been had.

Now, what are you gonna do about it?

An Argument for Merit Over "Diversity."

I'm sure that all fourteen of you have heard someone on the Left spouting some platitude about "fairness." Somewhere, there's always something or someone who isn't being "fair" about something.

Inequity is fairly screaming for someone to right this grievous injustice. This self-appointed hero will come riding in on his or her white horse and gleaming armor to save the day for the downtrodden masses. Ideologically, it all sounds well and good, right up until you discover what their remedy really is: some new, stifling government regulation that adds unneeded complexity and additional cost to your life. It really doesn't fix the problem. It creates a new set of them. Which calls for new regulations, creating more problems, ad infinitum.

The end result is what we see today, culminating in the Progressive\Obama Administration. The size and cost of the Federal government has increased some thirty percent during this time. There have been over 10,000 new regulations issued. Our debt is at record high levels and shows no sign of even being addressed, much less reduced. Thanks, Harry Reid, for blocking all the House's attempts to reduce the budget.

To backtrack just a bit (without fully digressing), the idea of "fairness" has translated into a leviathan government that only cares for those who inhabit it, negative real-world impacts be damned.

Now, back when I was young and dirt was still clean, there was one truism that everyone knew: Life Is Not Fair. You weren't always going to get everything you wanted. Some things wouldn't proceed according to your plan. Roadblocks would be put in your way. But if you persevered, you would eventually win the day.

Intertwined in this truism was the concept of merit: that if you did the very best you knew how, learned as much as you could and became the best at what you did, you were rewarded with success. For a long time, this concept was the core of the American mindset. It was a societal normative, one of the rules by which great things could and would be achieved.

Now, I'm not pining for the fiords when I write this. I'm not some curmudgeon longing for the good old days when men were men, your word was your bond, honesty was valued and a hard day's work was rewarded.

Well, actually, I am. So what?

In today's America, we're bombarded with the word "diversity." It's the Leftist cultural dogma that any group of people must reflect the racial divisions of the country, regardless of any other consideration. This was born out of the racial inequalities of  the post WWII era, and that were fixed to a great extent with the Voting Rights Act of 1964 and various other pieces of legislation that sought to right the past's injustices. For the most part, and while some may disagree, those inequities have been solved or at least greatly reduced. We're just that type of people.

But that wasn't good enough for lots of Leftards. After the psychological seed was planted that America was somehow inherently racist, all sorts of people grabbed a rake and a hoe and proceed to tend this garden and foster the idea that even though we fought a civil war to abolish slavery and have passed numerous laws to correct institutional racism, we were still a nation of racists. Take a look at Bell's "Critical Race Theory" as an example. This was in the early '70's. A young Barack Obama was one of his supporters. Given the racially selective nature of the enforcement of laws during his tenure, do you doubt that he still supports this outrageously false "theory?"

Sensing an opportunity to tap into the emotion of guilt, many people and organizations sprang up to harvest the garden of racism and sell it's false product to the public. You know to whom I'm referring: the professional racists Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and their various organizations, many of whom extort and threaten boycotts of innocent businesses in order to enrich themselves. You only need to look at the misinformation and outright lies surrounding the Trayvon Martin case to see this in action. Ask yourself whether they look at character or skin color.

The victim in this debacle is the idea of merit. "Diversity" is to be valued above and beyond merit and actual knowledge and accomplishment. Do I need to point out that, as the melting pot of the world, we were already a diverse culture?

Our Founders were bold enough to build our country around the idea that all men (and women, that's implied, but you already knew that) are equal before the authority of the law (which we all agree upon through our representative form of government, wherein our neighbors act in our stead in Washington to write our laws, in theory at least). But this idea has been perverted, to our great detriment, by those whose delusions of grandeur compel them to extend this notion to life itself, with them as the arbiters of this supposed "fairness" they force upon the rest of us.

So, how's that working out?

How is taxing the rich helping anyone else? Is that money going into your pocket? Do you have a better job because some eeeevvilll rich person has less money?

You know damned well you don't.

At least the notion of merit isn't completely dead. Here's a link to an article by the American Enterprise's Arthur Brooks over at The Blaze entitled True Fairness Means Rewarding Merit, Not Spreading the Wealth.

Here's a sample:

There are two main ways to define fairness: fairness in terms of opportunity, and fairness in terms of outcomes. The first means leveling the playing field, and the second means spreading the wealth around. The first means lifting people up on the basis of merit, and the second means bringing successful people down.

By focusing on raising taxes on the wealthy rather than pursuing meaningful policies to reduce unemployment or encourage economic growth, the President is using this second definition of fairness.

It's far past the time for us to embrace the idea of merit in the workplace and in life.

FCC Considering "all options" to Save LightSquared

I was over at my favorite hangout this morning (Ace of Spades HQ) and saw this link to another LightSquared article (from The Hill) posted by the indefatigable commenter and imaginary Intarwebz buddy, Vic.

Again, I must restate my support for the concept of a fast, public 4G wireless service, but as I've followed this story, I've seen sloppiness and a disregard for the safety not only of our military, but the public at large. Given who is involved, the anti-Christ George Soros among them, this is sadly not a surprise.

At least both parties are now considering something that should have been done from the beginning: moving the frequency away from the "quiet" GPS band, so there's that. I'm a layman, and ignorant in the ways of electronics, but common sense seems to have been missing from this endeavor from the outset. Anything that would have operated near the GPS frequency band should've been a non-starter.

Thanks, Vic.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Sunday programming.

Obama Born in Kenya?

Wow. Just Wow.

Breitbart News has obtained a promotional booklet produced in 1991 by Barack Obama's then-literary agency, Acton & Dystel, which touts Obama as "born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii."
If this is true, we're saved: as a non-citizen posing as President of the United States (which would be unConstitutional and illegal, but you knew that already), each and every document he has ever signed in that postition is null and void.

What is Wrong with Socialism, Besides Everything?

Here's a great article written by Kyle Becker over at Conservative Daily News: What is Wrong with Socialism?

Pretty much everything.

When I was young and dirt had that, um, fresh dirt smell, it was a widely accepted and understood fact of life that America had enemies. There were people who despised us for our freedom and were jealous of the prosperity our freedom granted us.

No other form of government yet conceived had done so much to elevate its people and the world as our American form of representative democracy.

But nowadays, you'll be hard pressed to find much of that prevailing societal attitude concerning America, thanks to the many domestic enemies who inhabit our shores, many born on her sacred land, such as Bill Ayers. They can be found in the halls of Congress also: Bernie Sanders and Keith Ellison come to mind. How them (or anyone who holds such anti-American view points) can be elected to high office is a mystery I have yet to unravel.

What kind of insanity drives a person to hate their own freedom and wish to destroy it?

And what kind of insanity makes otherwise intelligent Americans vote for them?

But I digress.

Here's a snippet or two from the article.

The American Dream used to mean an opportunity to achieve success through hard work, rather than being promised a free ride at others’ expense. Those of us who respect the former, rather than believe in the latter, have an instinctive disdain for “socialism.”
But mention anything untoward about socialist ideals in polite society nowadays, and one is likely to be greeted with the reply:

What is wrong with Socialism?

Socialism is a necessarily totalitarian ideology that seeks to synthesize the political, economic, social, and private life of individuals and places control over it all in the state. Indeed, capitalism makes the separation of life into separate spheres possible, because freedom of choice economically is necessary for freedom of choice in every other sphere.

Accompanying the article is a highly scientific illustration of the socialist brain of a liberal Democrat...

You sure could have fooled me. I thought their heads were empty.

Do read it all and pass it around to your friends. Since most of them were educated in public schools, they have probably never understood what socialism is. If they still don't understand, just tell them to look around them at the shambles of our once-robust economy.

That's what the beginning of socialist rule is. It only gets worse.

If the Economy Improves, Obama Will Take Credit for It

SwamiBoy here. My crystal ball had been flashing red for a few minutes, so I sat down in front of the orb with a notepad and a pencil this morning to see what was so important.

Here's what it told me: between now and the November general elections, the economy will begin to actually recover.

Then the room got dark and like the Bat-Signal, a message flashed on the ceiling: DON'T BE FOOLED. Then the crystal ball began to show reruns of Mork and Mindy.

The Official State Progressive Pravda Narrative will go as follows: Obama's plan for the economy will have finally reached maturity. Things are getting better, more people are working, and it's all because of Obama! The man who promised to cut the deficit in half and who has the mythic power to stop the rise of the oceans will be the sole cause of it all.

There will be new businesses starting up, old businesses expanding, there will be a renewed optimism spreading across the land like wildfire. Celebrations will spring up everywhere as will spontaneous block parties in response to the wonderfullness that is Obama.

DON'T BE FOOLED.

As America starts to anticipate Obama and the Progressives' crushing defeat in the polls, enthusiasm will fuel a genuine economic resurgence

 It has already been ordained:

Yes, things will get better, Your Eminence. And we do indeed have the solution to our problems within our grasp. The trouble is, your administration is either incapable or unwilling to use it, "it" being the power of the free capitalistic marketplace to create wealth.

Once the boot of Big Brother is removed from our neck, we'll be able to breathe. Then we'll get up, wonder how we were so easily persuaded to elect an anti-American radical such as yourself to the highest office in the land, kick ourselves for our gullibility, and get to work undoing everything you've done to the country.

DON'T BE FOOLED.

Things will get better, but the reason will not be your doing, Mr. President.

It will be due to the fact that you won't be in office for much longer.

That will be cause for real celebration.

LightSquared Files for Bankruptcy

As y'all know, I've covered the LightSquared story extensively here. Today, I have some good news: LightSquared has filed for bankruptcy in what is hopefully the death throes of this company and the crony socialism it represented.

LightSquared, based in Reston, Virginia, listed assets of $4.48 billion and debt of $2.29 billion as of Feb. 29 in a Chapter 11 filing yesterday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan. The filing followed intense negotiations with creditors, who had requested that the company’s backer, Philip Falcone, step aside. Falcone and the current management team will remain with the company, Terry Neal, a LightSquared spokesman, said yesterday.

Good riddance. And suck it, George Soros.

Your Monday Reading, um, Viewing Assignment

I ran across this link yesterday and thought you guys might appreciate it. It's from The Noisy Room.net and is a series of videos that you really should watch.

I won't give it away except to counsel you to keep an open mind about the host. He's fairly controversial in some circles, but I consider him something of a modern-day prophet. Understand that I mean the word "prophet" in the original, Biblical meaning of the term as "one who speaks out," not someone who can see the future.

He asks some very interesting questions. Just trust me and watch them all.

RIP Donald "Duck" Dunn

One of the world's greatest bass players has passed away.

Donald "Duck" Dunn, bass player for Booker T and the MG's (the house band for Stax Records) passed away in his sleep in Tokyo, Japan at age 70.

I've long admired his subtle yet effective playing style and played many of his songs myself. He was a legend among musicians and a wonderful ambassador for American music.

You are missed, Donald. Say hello to Otis Reading for us. And Roy Orbison, and Jimi Hendrix, and Levon Helm, and...

RIP Carroll Shelby

Carroll Shelby was primarily responsible for just about every fast Mustang ever made. After his chicken farm failed, he went on to become synonymous with all things Cobra, and became a potent force on international racetracks until his heart problems forced him to retire from racing. If it hadn't been for him, Ford Motor Corporation would never have been able to compete with the Chevy Corvette.

It's fitting that I first heard about Shelby's passing in the opening ceremony of the NASCAR Nationwide race last night. As I was heading out to a gig last night, I happened to catch part of Mark Levin's radio show where he brought up Carroll Shelby. He wondered if Shelby's passing would even be mentioned in an American classroom, something I hadn't considered, since Shelby was an American entrepreneur and not some environmentalist or radical.

Here's just a small taste of his influence on American musclecars, from our friends across the Pond. From the BBCA Series Top Gear (which if you like performance cars, you should absolutely demand from your TV).

Rest in Peace, Carroll. Although I rather doubt you will, since I'm reasonably certain that The Big Guy has a Mustang he'd like you to tweak...

Axelrod's WaPo - Desperate Much?

Heh.

The smell of desperation wafts from the pages and pixels of the Washington Post. David Axelrod and his MFM minions at the Progressive Pravda had to go back some 50 years to fabricate a damaging story about Mitt Romney. I won't link it because I'm sure you've probably heard the spin by now and I don't want to give them the fourteen hits that they otherwise wouldn't get from here.

That dastardly Mitt allegedly pulled a prank on a fellow classmate for what I'm pretty sure was violating a school dress code by cutting his hair. Oh, and it's alleged that said classmate was "suspected" of being gay. How mean of Mitt. To a guy suspected of being gay. The Horror!

And you're supposed to think, "That homophobic bastard. I wouldn't vote for him if he was the last man on Earth" and change the channel to Ellen DeGeneres.

How terribly convenient.

This comes after VP Joe Biden's gaffe of telling the truth on one of last Sunday's talk shows where he said he was totally comfortable with gay marriage, Tuesday's vote in North Carolina defining marriage as only between a man and a woman 20-point victory, and Obama's earth-shaking announcement yesterday that he now has flip-flopped evolved on his gay marriage stance.

I swear I did not know it was Gay Pride Week already in Washington. I should get out more, I guess.

Anyway, this story's already falling apart, as one of the fellows who was cited in the WaPo article now says he wasn't aware of the prank until this year when the paper contacted him about the story. (Plenty of links in that link to the Daily Caller.)

Now, the curious part of me is aroused. There's just a couple of things I'd like to know. First, how long has the Post been sitting on this story, because the timing seems, um, planned. Did David Axelrod control the release of this story? When was the forgetful classmate contacted and interviewed by the Post?

And lastly, when will the Post get around to doing some investigative work into Obama's high school years? Or his college years? What was his GPA? Where are his classmates?

When will the Post get around to investigating Obama's history in general?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Rush Gives a Great Examination of Tuesday's Election Results

This comes from the "More Good News" Department.

Since I can't link the video directly, I'll link this, um, link to The Right Scoop and you can take it from there.

We are indeed fed up and ready for some real change. Except this time, we want positive change.

We want the Constitution follwed faithfully.

We want government intrusion into our lives stopped.

We want Washington out of the economy. We want opportunity for all, not equal outcomes.

We want an end to the endless division of the country: we are all Americans and we want Washington to begin to act in our interest all the time.

A Twitter Smackdown of Epic Proportions - #AskMichelle

If you missed it, or are new to Twitter (like me), you need to check out this link. It's from Michelle Malkin's Twitchy site and chronicles an epic smackdown of Obama's reelection effort.

If you have a Twitter account and you didn't see it, look up the hashtag #Ask Michelle.

The First Lady was soliciting questions, and boy, did she get them:

I'd like to if it's hard to vacation so often? Does she get tired? @MichelleObama

So, @MichelleObama, why hasn't your husband fired Eric Holder yet, what with Fast and Furious and all?

how is the food in Spain? I can't afford to go on vaca there (or anywhere). Is it fun using my $ for extravagant trips?

Will you come to my house and make my kids' lunches for me? I'm too stupid to make good choices.

So, that's how it's done on Twitter, eh? I just may have to explore that a bit further...

More About Obama's 2012 Campaign Slogan "Forward"

Here's an interesting post from The American Thinker site entitled "Forward with Obama, Axelrod, Jarrett and Frank Marshall Davis".

Read all about the Chicago Machine's movers and shakers and their ties to the American Communist Movement. Now appearing at a White House near you.

The Left's National Vote Fraud Strategy Exposed

OK buckaroos, here's your next reading assignment.

The Left's National Vote Fraud Strategy Exposed.

And you'll never guess who's helping this. None other than your favorite anti-Christ and mine, George Soros.

Pour yourself a good stiff drink (you'll need it again, sorry) and be prepared to see what you can do locally to combat this effort to undermine our voting process and keep radical, left-wing Communist/Progressives in power.

Revolution, Obama Style

I'm not sure what to think about this article from Canada Free Press entitled The Planned Reelection of Obama Revolutionary Style. Not too long ago, I would've treated this article as "not very serious." But from what I've seen of the Obama administration and the very radical things he and it have done, I'm not so sure anymore.

It's certainly not outside the realm of possibility. This is one of those things that, if it's true, we are in a great deal of trouble.

A very great deal of trouble.

Read it for yourself and be very watchful.

Lord Monckton Gets It Right - Environmentalism is the New Face of Communism

Good Monday morning, y'all.

I had originally planned to ask a question of you today. Consider it a bit of mental homework if you will: Why doesn't anyone ask "Why?" these days?

It seems that intellectual curiosity is on the wane. Far too many otherwise intelligent people lack this one vital part of their thinking process. The Ancient Thinkers had this quality, and for a long while, their teachings of this timeless question were always present in our modern society. Indeed, I would propose that our modern societies were built upon the answers to their intellectual curiosity.

However, this recognition of ageless truths seems to be in decline for reasons I have yet to fathom. Our educational system relies less and less on teaching children how to learn and tends to focus instead on whatever socially popular theories are currently floating about. The emphasis appears to me to be misplaced: hard truth, that which has remained constant throughout our recorded history, is discarded in favor of consensus.

Nowhere is this more evident than in science classes. Studies of the laws of physics has been displaced in recent years with what I'd call "consensus science." In this strange, new discipline, long-held accurate descriptions of the world around us and the various physical laws that guide it take a back seat to a form of crowdsourcing wherein an organized group of scientists are paid to agree on an erroneous, yet-to-be-proven theory, and this is promoted as a fact.

I'm old enough to remember what was called the "Scientific Method" of research. It was and remains basic and easy to grasp: the first step was to observe a phenomenon, the second step was to experiment based upon the results of the observation to test the validity of the observation to see if the results could be duplicated. Simple enough.

However, there is a trend these days to forward outrageous theories that not so long ago would have gotten you laughed out of the bar. If you said that the human race had the capability of affecting the climate of the whole planet, you would have rightly been considered on the edge of sanity. Yet, this preposterous idea is the foundation for a worldwide movement today called "environmentalism."

Granted, it has taken us a while to begin to question this premise, but question it we have. And those of us who have dared to question something that we know innately to be false have been excoriated, denigrated, and called any and every name you can think of. That this is so proves that those who are advancing this hoax is proof enough that their entire movement is bullshit.

But I digress. I'd almost forgotten how to do that.

In this unholy marriage of "science" and politics, the environmental movement has become the shiny new face of an ancient enemy, Totalitarianism (or Communism or Progressivism).  In the following video from Trevor Loudon's site, Lord Christopher Monkton examines this movement and its attempt to impose a One World Government on us in the name of Goddess Mother Earth. Entitled Lord Monkton on Agenda 21 and Environmental Marxism, it's well worth your time to view.

If Agenda 21 rings a bell, it's because I've written about it before here. I would recommend that you read that post and watch the accompanying video if you're unfamiliar with it.

Anyway, back to my original question. Here's a video of someone who has the intellectual curiosity to ask "Why?" and the capacity to understand the answer.

Bless you, Lord Monkton. The world needs more men like you.

The Story of Julia - Is This How You'd Want Your Daughter to Live?

Fresh from the White House, Obama's Reelection Campaign, The Ministry of Information comes this little fantasy of a woman named Julia, who just can't make it in this big, old mean world without cradle-to-grave help from the government and your tax dollars.

The Life of Julia. Subtitled, "And how Mitt Romney will make it miserable." Put on your hip waders, boys and girls, the crap is going to get deep.

Notable by its absence is the influence of her parents. And when Julia decides to have a child, there's no mention of a husband. But at every step of her life, the government is there to give her a helping hand. Oh, and there's also no mention of a robust economy where Julia doesn't have to rely on the government for whatever scraps it decides to give her and she has the financial wherewithal to provide superior services for herself through the free market.

As you might guess, the Moron Horde had a field day with this little bit of wishcasting by the Children of the Left. Read the comments to find out what else happens to Julia...the crack-whore days during college, the sex-change operation, her denial of care by Obama's Death Panel which leads to a prolonged and agonizing death, her subsequent burial in the garden where she volunteered...

(Shamelessly stolen from Ace of Spades HQ)

UPDATE! Twitter feed for #LifeofJulia. Enjoy. I sure did.

UPDATE part Deux! Iowahawk, you magnificent bastard...

Why Don't We Hear the Truth from the Media? George Soros, that's why.

If you've spent any time here, you know how I feel about one of the biggest dangers to our country, our freedom and our way of life, the anti-Christ George Soros. He is Domestic Enemy #1 (if you don't count all the Progressive/Communists in Washington, that is).

Soros literally owns the left's propaganda machine in America. Our own little Progressive Pravda isn't an arm of the government, at least not officially.

In an ongoing effort to educate the public about how this despicable excuse of a man is busy trying to destroy our country, I present an article from the Media Research Center's Business and Media Institute that outlines the many "news" organizations that have received funding from Soros and his various radical, left-wing organizations. Understand that many of these organizations are tax-exempt non-profit organizations, which are supposed to be non-partisan. Any political observations they make would, in a world where everything wasn't backwards, disqualify them from this special exemption.

When liberal investor George Soros gave $1.8 million to National Public Radio, it became part of the firestorm of controversy that jeopardized NPR's federal funding. But that gift only hints at the widespread influence the controversial billionaire has on the mainstream media. Soros, who spent $27 million trying to defeat President Bush in 2004, has ties to more than 30 mainstream news outlets - including The New York Times, Washington Post, the Associated Press, NBC and ABC.

Do read it all. Educate yourself, remember the names of the people and organizations who are actively involved in deceiving you and keeping you in the dark. Beware of those who love evil and despise the truth.

When one man controls what you see and hear in media, you will hear only what he wants you to hear. You will see what he wants you to see. And you will think what he wants you to think.

Classy Tampa Bay Bucs Sign Paralyzed Rutgers Player Eric LeGrand

Some good news for a change.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday announced the signing of former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand to its 90-man offseason roster.

Said Schiano: "Leading up to the draft, I couldn't help but think that this should've been Eric's draft class. This small gesture is the least we could do to recognize his character, spirit, and perseverance. The way Eric lives his life epitomizes what we are looking for in Buccaneer Men."
Congrats, Coach. And Eric, too.

Cleveland Tea Party Members Arrested in Bridge Bombing Plot

Did I say "Tea Party Members?"  I meant to say Occupy Cleveland members.

My bad.

These are the very same people that this administration has endorsed. They are domestic enemies, plain and simple. These cretins see nothing wrong with anarchy: "The official said that during the investigation, several of the suspects repeatedly complained that the Occupy Wall Street movement, which had spread to other cities from New York, wasn't violent enough."

Repeatedly complained.

Does anyone else find it just a bit odd that this administration would court and woo a group whose goal is the destruction of the country?

Obama Chooses Marxist Slogan for his Campaign

Well, it's cool and hip and all that, especially if you're a leftard who likes to wear a Che Guevara t-shirt.

It's also a title that various leftard writers such as Marx and Engels have used for their propaganda newsletters through the years.

How can you possibly be against "Progress?" Don't you want to be thought of as cool and hip, especially by your neighbors, who are watching you to make sure you comply with all Party Diktats?

New Obama slogan has long ties to Marxism, socialism. From the Washington Times web site.

Oohh, oohh, it gets even better. No sooner did I hit the "Publish" button on this when I also found out that it was a Nazi squaredance, disco, Hitler Youth marching tune.

Alamand left, y'all.

Economics for Idiots (and Libtards, BIRM)

I found this over at The Angry White Dude web site. It's a video from motivational speaker Tony Robbins that explains what Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi (during their time in the 111th Congress) have actually done to our national finances.

Tony lays out the facts in a straightforward way that even Libtards can understand.

Maybe.

He also cites the indefatigable Iowahawk, whose understanding of math and numbers humbles everyone in Washington daily.

This is appropriate to show on the anniversary of our third year without a budget, just so you know.

If you have any friends of the Leftard Persuasion who still think that the record deficits imposed upon us by this administration are nothing to worry about, and that by simply taxing the rich so they pay their "fair share" of a debt they had nothing to do with everything will be just fine, let them watch this video.

Good luck with that. And, what are doing with idiots like that for friends anyway? Don't you know any smart people? At least anybody who can count? Come on...
