John McCain’s Shameful Embrace of the Latest Lefty Smear Against Conservatives – Isolationist!

In the never-ending quest to paint anyone who doesn’t adhere to the big-government, globalist political movement that is embraced by the New American Communists (known popularly as Progressives), they’ve come up with a new word with which to smear anyone who is opposed to their agenda.

Actually, the word itself isn’t new, but the negative connotation that the left is attempting to attach to it is. Like the word “racist,” it’s being bandied about with enthusiasm to smear, denigrate and deride anyone who dares to oppose this administrations’ involvement in Libya, and the three other conflicts we’re currently engaged in.

And, right on cue, John McCain was out in front of this effort, again turning his back on the Republican Party in general and conservatives in specific in helping progressives attack conservatives who don’t like the idea of entering a conflict without a clear mandate to win and to defeat the enemy.

Thanks a lot, Mr. Maverick, fine job you’re doing there.

It’s interesting that such groups as Code Pink, who were on the evening news nearly every night opposing President Bush’s War on Terror, are strangely silent now that their boy Obama is in the White House. Had Bush engaged us in the conflicts in Libya and Yemen, no doubt we’d be seeing much more of them, hands dripping with red paint, interrupting Congressional hearings, screaming about how illegal it all is and how he’s a war criminal and should be impeached.

Where are they now? And why aren’t they counted as knuckle-dragging isolationists as conservatives are?

The inconsistency, it burns.

But this double standard pales in comparison to McCain’s leftist stance on this issue.

McCain, speaking Monday at an event sponsored by the Foreign Policy Initiative in Washington, D.C., was asked whether he thought that support for the war on terrorism might be eroding within the GOP.


“I worry about it, and I worry a lot,” McCain said. “Because throughout the history of the Republican Party in modern times there’s two wings: the isolationist wing manifested before World War II and at other times; and the internationalist side.


“So I think there are going to be some tensions within our party,” he said.

Americans overwhelmingly support the War on Terror, but are greatly disappointed when they see our fighting men and women in uniform forced to abide by outrageous rules of engagement that give a clear advantage to our enemies. We understand the need to fight, but how can we win with one arm tied behind our back by misguided politicians who seem to think that winning the “hearts and minds” of 7th century barbarians is more important than defeating them?

The only tension that exists within the party is between an appeaser like McCain and Americans who wish to win this war by defeating the enemy by any means.

I have never understood the mysterious position taken by those on the left who oppose any and all wars. In theory, it sounds nice. “Who doesn’t want a world free of hostility and anger? Don’t we all want peace?” they say. I can’t argue with that.

But the problem doesn’t lie with us here in America. The tragic attacks of 9/11 should have proven to the world that radical islamists had escalated their war against the US and the Western way of life. Our response was justified. We wanted to destroy the infrastructure of support for Al Qaida, which was provided by Saddam’s Iraqi regime, along with Iran and Afghanistan. President Bush rightly attacked the source of their support and postponed the establishment of an islamic caliphate by invading Iraq. It had been clear to those who were paying attention that radical islamism was increasingly being supported by whole nations.

But today, ten years removed from 9/11, we still find our military attempting to win against an enemy that willfully ignores the Geneva Convention rules concerning non-uniformed fighters. This is another little detail that’s ignored by the left and various human rights organizations (but I repeat myself). If we were to truly abide by the Conventions ourselves, there would be no prisoners in this war. Illegal enemy combatants would be executed on the spot. We have the legal right to do this, why we aren’t is a mystery.

So we’re left with the impossible task of trying to win a politically correct war, fighting a war on our enemies’ terms instead of our own. And if this is the way McCain and the other appeasers in Washington want to fight this war, then there will be some blowback from those of us who remember how Americans once fought wars: to win them. If they want to call us isolationists, then so be it.

It makes no sense for us to be constantly engaged in hostilities without the clear goal of winning.

Bin Laden’s Death and Postmodernism

We knew this was coming. Not bin Leaden’s ultimate demise, but the unfortunate and all-too-predictable reaction from the usual subjects concerning his death. The last bubbles had hardly surfaced before some people started their America-bashing, claiming that we were the big, bad bullies for personally arranging Osama’s final dinner date with those 72 sturgeons. Even in countries that have experienced their own attacks at the direction of that animal, they strove mightily to establish their position on the highest moral ground by claiming that OBL’s death was illegal, immoral, and fattening. It even violated some international law.

I call bullshit, as you probably have too.

I’m terribly sorry to anyone who may be offended by my joy over the death of bin Leaden, but I'm not apologizing to anyone for it. We needed it. The world needed it. Nothing brightens my day like knowing the world has one less practitioner of evil in it. The birds sing a little sweeter at the thought that my five-year-old granddaughter doesn’t have to live in fear of him, and that one day, she’ll ask me who that bad man was. I’ll tell her and give her all the details I think she can handle.

The most important lesson I want to give her is that there are good people and there are bad people in this world. Good people do good things and bad people do bad things. Killing people is a bad thing, but killing a bad person is a good thing because it stops them from doing bad things to good people.

It really is just that simple. What surprises me is there are big people who can’t grasp that simple concept. And a few of them proudly proclaimed their misguided beliefs in the wake of bin Leaden’s death.

At which point I wondered, “What part of good and evil do you not understand?”

Amidst the moral universe in which we live, there are seemingly as many beliefs as there are stars in the evening sky. Well, maybe not that many, but there are an awful lot of them, and a lot of them are awful.

Bigfoot. Space aliens. The Loch Ness Monster. Keynesian economics. Political correctness. Multiculturalism, where all cultures are equally good. We need to spend money to keep from going bankrupt.

All popular beliefs and all of them wrong.

Yet there is one Big Wrong Belief that acts like an umbrella covering all the other ones from the cleansing rain of reality. You may have heard of it. It goes by the name of Postmodernism.

Sounds trendy, huh? Want to prove to your friends that you are terminally hip? Just say that you’ve been studying up on the latest philosophical craze, postmodernism. Your friends will be amazed.

Unless they know what it is. Then, what your friends will marvel at is your intellectual shallowness and infantile need for approval, not to mention your self-esteem issues for falling for the oldest trick in the book, in addition to being just plain stupid.

For the uninitiated, postmodernism is the basic belief that there is no such thing as good or evil. Following that, no decision you make or action you take is wrong. So, to coin a phrase, just do it. It’s all good. Nothing matters and what if it did?

Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? Since there’s no right or wrong, you’re free to live life on your own terms without that stodgy old thing called morals that the lesser humans babble on about. You’re a true intellectual, yes you are. You can now move on to other things, like splitting those pesky atoms with your mind and putting all those scientists at CERN to shame.

Silly humans.

If you’re not up to speed on this concept, do yourself a favor and search out a few articles on it. If you have any experience at all in the real world, you will rightly question anyone who buys into postmodernism. Not to put too fine a point on it, but it’s just codified insanity. The scary part about it is, there are a lot of folks who believe it, and too many of them hold political office. Cass Sunstein springs immediately to mind.

If you believe in PoMo, you are actively disengaging your own conscience. Control freaks like Sunstein have no problem with the idea of controlling other people because of it. All they need to do is point to how popular PoMo is (in certain circles) and voila! No need for any explanation and certainly no need to answer the questions that inevitably arise when you find out that there is someone in Washington whose fondest desire is to “nudge” you into a certain behavior.

Nor is there any need to explain the oft-cited stratospheric certitude that “One death diminishes us all.” Really? Bin Laden’s death diminished us? In what way? We killed a mass murderer. We killed someone who encouraged others to kill us for the crime of being non-muslim. We killed someone who hated us for breathing. Sorry, but out here in the real world, we must occasionally kill rabid animals for everyone's safety.

And we’re the ones who were wrong to kill him? Some of these fake bleeding hearts wanted him arrested and tried for his crimes. The idiocy of that proposal defies all logic and probably a few laws of physics, too.. While we’re playing mind games, let’s imagine for a moment what would have happened had we held the World’s Biggest Show Trial for bin Laden. He would’ve had the stage for his beliefs, the trial likely would've lasted for many years forcing the survivors of 9/11 to relive that horrible day over and over, there would be terror attacks and millions of dollars spent on security, the defense would have presented all manner of excuses for his behavior and would have retired after their books were published. It would’ve been a debacle of global proportions, just like OBL would have wanted it.

So, thanks once again to Seal Team 6, wherever and whoever you may be. You did the world a favor, and we owe you our gratitude.

As for the America bashers here and abroad, take your moral relativism and shove it, along with your stupid beliefs.

Osama bin Laden Achieves Room Temperature

All Mondays should start this way, with a murderous madman's death.

Just in case you haven't heard, the bastard's dead. Good riddance. Rot in hell where you belong, you POS.

I could post a bunch of links to the details, but you can click anywhere on this Internet thingy and find out all the wondrous details of the Navy Seal's strike that got that piece of human debris. In fact, I changed that last sentence because the words human and OBL don't belong in the same sentence together. Oops, crap, I did it anyway.

It should be noted that we found him inside Pakistan. Some ally, huh? I want plenty of answers as to why they were giving that goat-lover cover?

Did I mention that I'm a very happy Boy this morning? There aren't enough good things to say or write about this. It's an  important turning point in the War on Terror. We now have the momentum, as we knew we would one day.

AQ and the Taliban say they'll retaliate. I only have one thing to say to them.

Bring. It. On.

And you just know that someone else will rush to fill OBL's place. Good. We'll find him and kill him too. And the next one, and the next one.

I don't have any pangs of conscience about celebrating the death of one of the devil's henchmen. He was an evil man whose every breath was an insult to peace-loving people everywhere. I'm very glad he's dead. I don't mourn the death of evil, I revel in it.

Now, I think I'll go ride around a while and join in the celebrations that are sure to pop up where I live. However you choose to enjoy this day, do so. We needed it.

While Obama Dismisses War on Terror, Muslim Brotherhood Declares War on US

There is a disturbing trend among many in Washington to dismiss the War on Terror as a fabrication of knuckle-dragging right-wing-nuts who drool at the prospect of creating some non-existent boogieman to skewer. This trend reaches to the top of the Obama administration who has famously renamed the War on Terror with the vapid term “Overseas Contingency Operations.” Acts of terror are now referred to as “Man-caused disasters.” Even our military forces must contend with the lack of seriousness emanating from the poison of political correctness in the Pentagon in the form of rules of engagement that make no sense and seem designed specifically to place our fighting forces in a position of weakness.

This trend is a disturbing one because it ignores a very fundamental truth: We have enemies.

Part of this dangerous psychology is denial. Some folks just cannot accept the fact that others don’t like them. The false ideas contained in the concepts of political correctness are also to blame. There is a catch-phrase the ignorant left loves to use to disregard any warning concerning the real intentions of radical islam – when faced with actual arguments, they invariably start screeching “islamophobia” with all the idiocy they can muster. Even after the massacre of 9/11, there are those who deny what is right before their eyes.

However, all of the arguments and all of the new-age pop psychology that is employed by the leftist have just been tossed out the window.

The Muslim Brotherhood has officially declared war on America.

That means you and me.

The history of islam is one of a constant effort to conquer the world through any means available. By the sword. By the word. By the courts. By patience. By cunning. By using our assets against us.

Every day, there is some example of the oppression of islam somewhere in the world. Whether it be “morality police” forcing men to cut their hair a certain way, forced clitorectomies, honor killings, brainwashing children and teaching them to hate others, the list of barbarities is long. How long must the world tolerate these things? What will it take before we awaken from our national slumber to the realization that there were many in the Arab world who danced in the streets upon learning that Moslems plowed two American airplanes into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001?

Maybe this will do it.

Some of us are starting to fight back. A group vowing to fight "Islamofascism" has launched a media blitz in Oklahoma supporting a state constitutional amendment that would prohibit the courts from considering Islamic or other international law when ruling on cases in Sooner State courtrooms. Naturally, the muslim superiority group CAIR rose up out of their slime to denounce the initiative as, you guessed it, “islamophobia” and another example of muslims being unfairly targeted.

I ran across this little piece over at National Review Online that is worth your time, especially if you have yet to decide if the Ground Zero mosque is a good idea. Here’s the intro,

Imagine that there really were these fundamentalist Christian terror cells all over the United States, as the Department of Homeland Security imagines. Let’s say a group of five of these terrorists hijacked a plane, flew it to Mecca, and plowed it into the Kaaba.

Now let’s say a group of well-meaning, well-funded Christians — Christians whose full-time job was missionary work — decided that the best way to promote healing would be to pressure the Saudi government to drop its prohibition against permitting non-Muslims into Mecca so that these well-meaning, well-funded Christian missionaries could build a $100 million dollar church and community center a stone’s throw from where the Kaaba used to be — you know, as a bridge-building gesture of interfaith understanding.


What do you suppose President Obama, Mayor Bloomberg, the New York Times, and other Ground Zero mosque proponents would say about the insensitive, provocative nature of the proposal?

Indeed.

This is a war the Obama administration clearly does not know how to fight. Or does it? In his book The Audacity of Hope, Obama clearly states that he will “side with muslims should the political winds of war shift in an ugly direction.”

Is there any other way for the wind to shift during the hell of war, Mr. President?

What then are we to expect of you, Mr. President, given your published intention to side with our enemies? Should we really expect anything except rules of engagement that favor the enemy? Should we expect anything except mislabeling what is clearly a war? Should we expect that you would want to give our enemies the hard-won rights and liberties that our forebears died for inside our very own courts?

What should we expect from you?

Friday Bits of Tid - 9/11 Edition

A Prayer

Heavenly Father, we humbly seek Your wisdom and guidance, Your Grace, Loving Kindness and Your continued Blessing upon our land as we recall the souls lost on September 11, 2001. We ask that you fill our hearts with forgiveness. We ask also that you open the hearts of our enemies that they might know Your love and that peace may reign over Your Creation. That we, your children, may one day join together in harmony and good will, seeking no longer war nor destruction. Let your Light show us the path to righteousness that we may not stumble, but find at journeys' end the peace which you promise in Everlasting Life. Grant us these humble wishes, O Lord, that we may know Heaven on Earth.

Mr. Holder, What Are You Hiding?

Eric Holder, you've only been in your job for a year, but in that year, you've done a few things that many of us find questionable.

The first thing you did was a surprise. It was a surprise because of the outrage that would have resulted had the racial roles been reversed. You see, many of us turned on our TV's and saw two large black men in front of a polling station wielding billy clubs in a threatening manner and making intimidating remarks. On election day. Now, while we may not be experts on the law, we know that scene has all the makings of a case of racial voter intimidation, complete with eyewitnesses, video evidence from a news organization, and police reports. Now comes the surprising part: you dropped the charges against these men.

Why?

Next came your unbelievable decision to try the architect of 9-11 in a civilian court, with all the rights of an American citizen, in clear conflict with the Geneva Conventions.

Why?

Next up was another unbelievable decision to read the failed Christmas Day bomber his Miranda rights and place him in our criminal justice system as though he had merely robbed a convenence store, ignoring the obvious fact that he tried to kill over three hundred innocent people.

Why?

Now, we find out that members of your department have previously defended illegal enemy combatants, in what appears to be a very clear case of a conflict of interest. Senator Charles Grassley has asked you to identify these people. So far, you've been less than forthcoming with your answers, to the point of stonewalling. Byron York puts it this way:

Private lawyers can choose to take or not take cases. Sometimes they make their decisions based on money, sometimes on principle, sometimes because they are sympathetic to the accused. The lawyers who worked with the terrorist detainees chose to represent people who are making war on the United States. That's certainly their right, but it's entirely reasonable to ask whether they should now be working on detainee issues at the Justice Department.

It's also entirely reasonable to ask how those lawyers are able to get a good nights' sleep, knowing that they are helping our sworn enemy to defeat us in our own courts.

Mr. Holder, why aren't you complying with the numerous requests to be honest with the American people?

Whose side are you on?

John Brennan says "We Need No Lectures". Oh, Really?

An op-ed by Deputy National Security Advisor John Brennan in USAToday online attempts to defend the gross mishandling of terrorists by the Obama administration. In it, he states that those who oppose the way terrorism is now being handled are on the side of al Qaeda.

Politically motivated criticism and unfounded fear-mongering only serve the goals of al-Qaeda.

Mr. Brennan, I'm going to disagree with you. It's time for a lecture.

We have enemies. That's nothing new. Anti-Americanism is as old as our country. In the past, our enemies fought us the good old-fashioned way: with guns and bombs. All we had to do was build better guns and bombs and use them more effectively in order to win. Battlefields were clearly defined since wars were primarily fought over land and property.

Today, our enemies aren't using only guns and bombs against us. Today our enemies are using anything they can find against us. Have you forgotten that 3000 innocents were brutally killed on 9-11 without one shot being fired? And that the weapons they used were our own airplanes? Our enemies are cunning and patient, willing to use our own resources against us in a world-wide battlefield.

Another weapon that our enemies seek to use is that of psychology. They want us scared and fearful of them. They think that if they demonstrate enough barbarity, we'll cower before them and submit. They also seek to use our own institutions against us. They relish the idea of getting a platform in a courtroom where their sympathizers can defend them in the name of American justice. They have no respect for the rule of law and see your attempts to put them on trial as weakness. Make no mistake, Mr. Brennan, justice is not what they seek, only victory against The Great Satan.

Mr. Brennan, you, President Obama and Eric Holder seemingly have no idea what you're up against. Our enemies hold in their hearts a hatred that burns with the fire of a thousand suns. They want nothing less than to see you plead for your life before they saw your head off, and laugh while they record the act for YouTube. They've made the choice to hate and they mock your puny efforts to talk them out of their beliefs.

If you truly love your country, as you claim, you need to become more brutal than our enemies. You need to understand that there's nothing wrong with killing bad guys who want you dead. You need to instill fear in them. They should be afraid to be caught by the US. They should know that they'll be squeezed of every last ounce of actionable intelligence about any plans and then executed. You need not be concerned with our image before the rest of the world.

They certainly aren't.

If you truly wish to win this war, then start acting like it.

Obama Gives In, al-Qaeda Wins!

In the aftermath of the failed attempt to kill 300 innocent travelers on Christmas Day, one thing has become painfully apparent. This administration isn’t serious about winning the War on Terror

The Fruit-of-Kaboom Bomber (thanks Rush) never should’ve been allowed on an airplane. The fact that he was despite all the warning signs (even one from his father) shows an embarrassing ineptness on the part of those entrusted with the safety of the flying public

He has now been given a lawyer, had his Miranda rights read to him and is currently silent when he should be rigorously interrogated about similar Al Qaeda efforts currently planned. Not that it would do much good when we have liberal judges willing to throw out evidence in terrorist trials, essentially handing a victory to our enemies in the name of the law.

Logic seems absent from Eric Holder’s decision to try KSM in a New York court. Why spend 200 million tax dollars per year on him on a show trial? He’s not a citizen and deserves no rights in an American court of law. He was already willing to be executed, so what’s behind this decision? Does the Obama administration really think that their appeasement will placate our enemies? Has it prevented an attack yet?

There a few in Congress who want to stop this madness, although not enough. Showing weakness to our enemies only invites more aggression, as anyone who’s ever tried to talk a schoolyard bully out of a beating can testify.

President Obama told us in his book Dreams of My Father that he would “side with Islam”. This is now readily apparent to most Americans.

Instead of showing strength and determination against an enemy, he appeases them and gives in to them.

He is now playing by their rules.
