Hoyer - "Unemployment and Food Stamps are Two Most Stimulative Things for Economy"

One wonders just how people who have absolutely no idea how a free market economy works manage to get and keep a job in Congress. Jammie Wearing Fool has this post and quote from Steny Hoyer:

“If you talk to economists, they will tell you there are two things that are the most stimulative that you can do — one’s unemployment insurance, the other’s food stamps, okay?”

Really, Steny? Is that what you think, if you call that thinking? What happened to the idea of a good job with the possibility for advancement? You know, like we used to have.

You can always tell a power-hungry elitist, but you can't tell him much.
